marketing of sugar with a view to ensuring optimum returns on investment for existing and
future producers and to ensure the long term wellbeing of the Sugar Industry as the
leading generator of wealth in Swaziland.
To market sugar and by-products to a maximum advantage on a sustained basis. To add value
to existing products and to encourage development of new products.
To encourage growing and production of high quality, yielding cane suitable for production
of high quality sugar. To adopt a positive stand on the expansion of viable production
with emphasis on participation by Swazi nationals.
To ensure efficient administration and financial support services including equitable
distribution of proceeds among participants.
To regulate the affairs of the industry in terms of the law in a manner which is equitable
to all participants in the industry.
To offer and co-ordinate training and career path development within a framework of
commercial viability. To encourage consultation with organized labour.
To project a positive image of the industry in an active way and to keep all stakeholders
informed of developments.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATION
To keep close contact with government and national agencies, and to ensure the goals of
the industry are consistent with, and contribute to, the national economic objectives.
SWAZILAND SUGAR ASSOCIATION
To ensure that the Swaziland Sugar Association which performs the services necessary for
the general development of the industry, is recognised as a professional, efficient and
marketing-oriented organisation acting on behalf of the Swaziland Sugar Industry.
To provide the requisite technology which enables the industry to take a dynamic lead in
the field of sugar cane and sugar production.
