International
Workshop on Gender, Culture and Professionalism
(14 - 16 May 1998)
OVERVIEW
Much effort has been made in the 1980s and 1990s to promote the political and economic
empowerment of women as one of the strategies to eliminate inequality and discrimination
in the African society. These efforts notwithstanding , a lot of work still needs to be
done in this area.
The three-day international workshop on Gender, Culture and Professionalism is
meant to complement efforts already made and being made to correct social injustice in
African societies. The workshop which is targeted at administrators is meant to address
